Agility Class

Agility is here!

Agility is one of the fastest growing sports for dogs. It is a timed obstacle course that is made up of jumps, tunnels, a dog walk, A frame, teeter and table. If competing, the dog that runs the course fastest with the least faults will earn a qualifying run or “leg” in that run. You need three legs to move up in classes from Novice to Open, to Masters.

You may find that you don’t want to compete and concentrate on having fun with your dog. Many have found they like to learn something new with their dog and strengthen the bond they have with their dog. Watch your dog come alive when he knows he is going to class. Your dog needs to be able to sit, down, come, and stay to participate in this class.

Susan Fry is the instructor. She has been running in agility since 1995. She has had entrants running in the NADAC National Championship six different times. Susan is a positive methods instructor who believes in treats and toys to get the best out of your dog. It is about learning to handle the dogs with praise and love.
