About Us

The Dog Obedience Academy is a “positive method only” dog training facility, located in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon. Reward based training is an effective technique based on the sound principles of learning theory. Your dog will learn in a positive, nurturing environment. No aversive method is ever used. There is no need to!

Our mission is to provide your dog with the skills to be a fun and loving member of your family. When dogs have “good manners”, they become an essential part of your life and participate in all that you do. This means fun for you and your dog.

Our specialty is “board and train”. Give us your dog for 3 or 4 weeks and we will return your dog to you with good manners. If you are going on vacation or need to board your dog anyhow, this may be perfect for you. We also will be glad to provide you with in-home consultations to help you with your dog’s particular issues. Whether your dog is jumping up, barking, or digging, we can work through these problems in your dog’s real life environment — his home!

Good Manners can be acquired in the privacy of your own home. We can schedule, and personalize a training program just for you and your dog (or dogs).
